Tornado watch issued for Johnson, Wyandotte and Leavenworth counties

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Johnson, Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties through 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, Okla., there is a threat of tornadoes from this storm, as well as hail up to 1.5″ in diameter and winds gusting up to 70 mph. The watch stretches from near the Nebraska-South Dakota, east into Iowa and then south along the Kansas-Missouri border through the Kansas City metro area.
