Flood watch canceled early; threat for severe weather persists

The National Weather Service has ended early the flood watch for northeast Kansas.

A flood warning continues for Franklin County.

The chance for new severe weather — including flooding — will return later this afternoon and evening, with the National Weather Service identify some tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds as the primary threat.

10 p.m. Thursday

The National Weather service has issued a flood watch through late Friday night for Douglas, Shawnee, Johnson, Jefferson, Leavenworth and Franklin counties.
