Flood watch canceled early; threat for severe weather persists

Drive carefully because you could see moderate to heavy rainfall. There could be a break during the morning, but expect storms later in the day.

The National Weather Service has ended early the flood watch for northeast Kansas.

A flood warning continues for Franklin County.

The chance for new severe weather — including flooding — will return later this afternoon and evening, with the National Weather Service identify some tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds as the primary threat.

10 p.m. Thursday

The National Weather service has issued a flood watch through late Friday night for Douglas, Shawnee, Johnson, Jefferson, Leavenworth and Franklin counties.

When our winter weather ended, it did so quickly and everything started growing so quickly I didn't get my apple tree pruned. I'm tempted to go ahead and do anyway. Any advice?
