University Bridge Club announces results of its April 3 meeting, with hosts Mary Gaumer and Julie Zajic.

Blue winners were Roz Zimmerer, first; Joan VanNice, second; Steven Bogler, third; Dottie Miller, fourth; and Doug Baur, fifth.

Pink winners were Karen Zimmerer, first; Alice Akin, second; Cathy Stephens, third; Carol Smith, fourth; and Lois Liebert, fifth.

Kaw Valley Quilters’ Guild Quilt Show “From Grandmother’s Treadle to iQuilt” will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 24-25 in Building 21 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper. Admission is $5.

The Wednesday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on March 31 was directed by Chris Lane. North-South winners were Chris Lane and Patricia Lechtenberg, first in A and B; Grant Sutton and Catherine Blumenfeld, second in A and B; Mona Bell and Suzanne Wassmer, third in A and B; Charles Hedges and Dick Shaffer, fourth in A and B; Larry Weatherholt and Steven Vossler, fifth in A; Margarete Hartman and Clarice Broz, first in C; and Ann Thompson and Gary Joyce, second in C.

East-West winners were Mark Osborn and Bobby Patton, first in A and B; Eldon Herd and Shari Krentzel, second in A and B; Sally Taylor and Yvonne Hedges, third in A and B; Paul Heitzman and David Piro, fourth in A; and Eleanor Patton and Jan O’Connor, fifth in A, fourth in B, and first in C.

The Thursday Morning Mentor Bridge Club’s game on April 1 utilized the Howell movement and was directed by Chris Lane. Winners were Bobby Patton and Bob Hemenway, first; Chris Lane and John Reese, second; Jean Khatib and Virginia Johnston, third; Earle Core and Debbie Bettinger, fourth; and Eleanor Patton and Becky Mullins, fifth.

The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on April 2 was directed by Virginia Seaver. North-South winners were Betty Collier and Shirley Reese, first in A and B; Larry Weatherholt and Steven Vossler, second in A; Virginia Seaver and Sally Taylor, third in A; John Oxley and Elizabeth Jankord, fourth in A; Chris Lane and Yvonne Hedges, second in B; Catherine Blumenfeld and Lois Clark, third in B; and Earle Core and Debbie Bettinger, first in C.

East-West winners were Jan O’Connor and Klee Zaricky, first in A and B; Marilyn Martin and Bobby Patton, second in A and B; Dave Chipman and Bill Muir, third in A; David Piro and Paul Heitzman, fourth in A; Jack Flickinger and Dick Shaffer, third in B and first in C; and Barbara McCorkle and Virginia Johnston, second in C.

The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on April 5 utilized the Howell movement and was directed by Virginia Seaver. Winners were Steven Vossler and James Masilamani, first in A; Kent McCullough and John Fittell, second in A; Eldon Herd and Jerry Sloan, third in A; Donna Johnson and Peter Petillo, fourth in A; and Lois Clark and Craig Huneke, fifth in A and first in B.

Blue winners were Roz Zimmerer, first; Doug Baur, second; John Stark, third; Bonnie Haney, fourth; and Harold Riehm, fifth.

Pink winners were Willi Stark, first; Florence McNicoll, second; Edna Galle, third; Cora Kuepker, fourth; and Donna Riehm, fifth.

Over the Rainbow Doll Club met April 8 at the home of Suzanne McGinn. Members began making plans for two upcoming events: the Club Doll Birthday party in June and the open meeting in September. Suzanne and Kelsey McGinn presented an informative lesson on American Girl dolls. Several members brought American Girl dolls for the display and program. Gail Brewster and her granddaughters, Mikhenna and Mikhaila Brown, provided the door prize and items for the “hat auction.” The club will travel to Olathe next month for a surprise lesson at the Brown’s.

East-West winners were Klee Zaricky and John Oxley, first in A; Paul Heitzman and David Piro, second in A; Jan O’Connor and Lois Clark, third in A and first in B; Yvonne Hedges and Sally Taylor, fourth in A and second in B; Bebe Huxtable and Wanna Roszel, third in B and first in C; and Nita Scales and Mona Bell, second in C.

The Sunday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on April 11 was directed by Chris Lane. Winners were Patricia Lechtenberg and Virginia Seaver, first; Hailong Dao and Craig Huneke, second; and Chris Lane and Jan O’Connor tied in third with Jean Khatib and Marilyn Martin.

The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on April 12 was directed by Virginia Seaver. North-South winners were Albert Ballard and Emily Foster, first in A, B and C; Vince Nordberg and Jim Stewart, second in A, B and C; Lois Clark and Kent McCullough, third in A; and Steven Vossler and Larry Weatherholt, fourth in A.

East-West winners were Jerry Sloan and Peter Petillo, first in A; Eldon Herd and Mary Fenlon, second in A; James Masilamani and Donna Johnson tied in third in A with Adelaide Nyquist and Judy Bevan; and Nyquist and Bevan were also first in B and C.
