Street repairs to begin on Bob Billings Parkway; 31st Street work planned next week

Crews are expected to start fixing sections of pavement on Bob Billings Parkway once the rain stops, said Chuck Soules, the city’s director of public works.

The area to be repaired — between Wakarusa and Kasold drives — will have at least one lane open in each direction during the work, Soules said. Orange cones and signs have been place along a portion of that stretch since last week, but rain Friday forced crews to reschedule.

More rain Monday delayed the work even more, he said.

On Friday, the work on Bob Billings was not included on the city’s schedule of road-repair projects for this week. Instead, the city said that crews would be working on 31st Street, from Ousdahl Road to the eastern edge of the Gaslight Village Mobile Home Park.

The 31st Street work now is scheduled for next week, Soules said.
