100 years ago: Local officer nabs two at once

From the Lawrence Daily World for April 5, 1910: “The students who were campaigning for rugby to replace American football at the university admit to disappointment but agree to go along with the other students and the athletic board. … A local officer got two birds with one stone in the downtown today. He ran across a bootlegger he had been seeking and saw a pickpocket at work and so he nabbed them both. He was chuckling about his good luck.”
