Members of Eudora Boy Scout Troop 64 joined with members of Cub Scout Pack 3064, Eudora 4-H Club, Eudora Girl Scout troops, and Eudora High School’s Honor Society to gather more than 3,100 food items for the Eudora Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry on March 31. With help from the adult leaders, friends and volunteer staff at the food pantry, which is housed at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Eudora, they picked up bags of non-perishable food from around Eudora and delivered them to the food pantry. Troop 64, chartered to the Eudora Lions Club, meets on Mondays at the Nottingham Center.

Troop 53 welcomed its new Scouts at its March 29 meeting. Two new patrols were created. Flaming Stickmen patrol is Alex Craig, Ben Wilson, Dawachi Hooper, Drew Vereen, Seamus Ryan, Dillon Rowland, Joshua Burrichter and Andrew Hayes. Older Scouts serving as troop guides are Anthony Van Schmus, Matthew Siler and Connor Ballenger. Dancing Bananas patrol is Devin Van Schmus, Dylan Edwinson, Jonathan Lesslie, Kyle Sadosky, Will Benkelman, Alex Hurt, John Eldridge and Justin Siler. Troop guides are Ross Chumbley, Andrew Ornburn and Ivan Davidson.

Boy Scout Troop 60, charted with the First Baptist Church of Lawrence, will have a pancake feed from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. April 10 at Applebee’s Restaurant, 2520 Iowa. Pancakes and beverages will be served. Cost is $5 and tickets may be purchased from the troop or at the door. The troop will also have a fundraiser from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 7 at Montana Mike’s Steakhouse, 1015 Iowa. Tickets can be purchased from the Scouts or by calling, 748-0857. Both events will assist with the troop’s travel expenses to summer camp in South Dakota.
