Hutchinson — Ethanol producers are pushing for a mandate requiring country-of-origin labeling on gasoline pumps so consumers know from where their fuel comes.
But the nation’s refiners say the plan is unworkable.
The effort was launched this month by Growth Energy in a bid to increase ethanol consumption in the country. Growth Energy is an industry group representing about 50 ethanol companies across the nation.

Interesting, is this not the same group that encouraged the State of Kansas to no longer require gas stations to even tell you if the gasoline you purchase has ethanol in it, or how much?
