Location studies to determine the future route of Kansas Highway 10 east of Lawrence to DeSoto were being inaugurated by the state highway commission, district commissioner Bob Hagen of Lawrence reported.

The county legal aid society announced plans to begin operation from an office in the basement of the courthouse to aid those unable to afford attorneys. Fred Six was president of the society.
