Walk to Defeat ALS set for Sept. 20

Lawrence’s fifth Walk to Defeat ALS will take place Sept. 20 on the Kansas University campus.

The Lawrence Walk to Defeat Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis is an annual fundraising event to raise awareness and fund research for ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The walk is part of the Keith Worthington chapter in Kansas City, which was founded in 1978 to help local patients and families living with ALS.

Registration begins at 1 p.m. at the Kansas Union, and the two-mile walk begins at 2 p.m. Participation in the walk is free, but donations are accepted. To learn more about the walk, visit www.walktodefeatals.org.
