Lawrence Memorial Hospital is offering a free course “10,000 Steps a Day” to teach participants the basics about beginning a walking program.

It will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today in meeting room A at the hospital, 325 Maine.

Proper footwear and suggestions about where to walk will be discussed. The cost is $10 for a pedometer to help participants log their daily steps.
