Police respond to shots fired call outside the Granada
No one reported injured; No one arrested in connection with early Sunday incident
Police responded Sunday to a report of gunshots fired in the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street.
According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Susan Hadl, police were in the area of the Granada, 1020 Mass., about 2:00 a.m. Sunday, when an officer reported the sound of a gunshot nearby. Police were investigating Sunday a report of gunshots fired in the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street.
Police recovered a single shell casing in the parking lot south of the Granada.
As of Sunday night, no one had been reported injured and no one was arrested in connection with the incident.
Hadl said a massive crowd of people was socializing and congregating in the area after a party at the Granada ended. Police were on scene handling a disturbance and controlling the crowd when the shots fired report came out.
According to the building’s marquee and a Lawrence.com event listing, the Granada was hosting Saturday night an event called the Bay Boy Postgame Party.
