Veritas football earns KCAA’s second seed

Despite its loss Thursday to Sunrise Christian in the battle of previously unbeatens, Veritas Christian’s football team is still very much alive for a KCAA state title.

The Eagles (7-1) earned the No. 2 seed in the four-team playoff and will play host to No. 3 seed St. Mary’s at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

No. 1 Sunrise Christian will play No. 4 Topeka Cair Paravel at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and the winners will play each other for the championship Nov. 7.
