The American Red Cross and the Community Blood Center are sponsoring two blood drives in November.
The Red Cross drive will be from noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 5 at First Christian Church, 1000 Ky. Walk-ins are welcome, but the agency is taking appointments.
The other will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1245 N.H., and is in honor church member A.J. Black, who died in December of aplastic anemia.
Bev Kerbs from the Red Cross said that there is an increased need for blood donations currently due to cancellations from flu outbreaks.
Donors can also call the Red Cross at 1-800-448-3543 or visit the agency’s Web site to make an appointment or to find information on upcoming blood drives.
