Graceland next for Baker; Haskell idle

While Baker University’s football team hits the road, Haskell Indian Nations’ players will start a two-week fall break.

Baker, winner of three of its last four, is in Lamoni, Iowa, today to meet Graceland College. Kickoff will be at 1:30 p.m.

Haskell, currently in a three-game losing skid, will be idle today and again next Saturday. Next game for the Fightin’ Indians (3-5) will be Nov. 7 against Southwestern Assemblies of God U. at Haskell Stadium.

Baker (3-3) is coming off a 29-21 victory over Benedictine. Graceland (2-4) has lost four in a row since opening with two victories.

BU senior running back Richie Bryant leads the HAAC in rushing with 112.8 yards a game and 11 touchdowns. He also shares the league lead for receptions per game (5.3). Senior quarterback Mack Brown ranks fifth in the conference with 1,270 passing yards.

Defensive standouts for Baker are end Andrew Patch, the league leader with six sacks, and linebacker Matt Brock, second in tackles with 57.
