Recycling event to accept electronic equipment
An electronic equipment recycling event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Free State High School parking lot.
Residents and small businesses may recycle old, non-working electronic equipment, which may contain hazardous components.
Items accepted include televisions and other video equipment, computers, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, small appliances, telephones and other hand-held devices.
There is no charge for recycling most items, but a $5 fee per monitor and a $10 fee per television will be assessed, and can be paid by cash or check.
Items not accepted include large appliances such refrigerators or air-conditioning units and other household hazardous materials.
