Kansas soccer falls, 2-1

? Lisa Silwinski’s goal in the 107th minute gave Baylor a 2-1 overtime soccer victory over Kansas University on Sunday.

The loss dropped Kansas to 10-6-1 overall and 2-5 in the Big 12, while the Bears improved to 7-4-4 and 3-3-2.

Silwinski rattled Baylor’s winning goal off the crossbar and into the net on a free kick. The Jayhawks fouled Betsy Kyle just outside of the box, 22 yards away from the goal, setting up the free kick.

In the first half, Baylor took a 1-0 lead on an own goal by the Jayhawks.

It marked the fourth consecutive match that the Jayhawks have surrendered the first tally.

Emily Cressy scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season for KU.

Baylor held a 16-15 edge in shots. Cressy led the Jayhawks with five, including four on goal.

Kansas will look to bounce back at 3 p.m. on Friday when it plays host to Nebraska at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex.
