Don’t be afraid

To the editor:

The funny thing about our health care system is, even the “Cadillac” plan can’t protect us from the negative effects of a sick system. Excellent coverage does not guarantee that a doctor won’t prescribe an unnecessary test or harmful treatment, that you won’t wait in long lines or even get turned away for service. And as patients we all know it isn’t always the doctors’ fault or the insurance companies’ fault or even the government’s fault. They are all to blame.

So when I read the Journal-World and see an advertisement saying “keep your hands off of my health care” I have to laugh. It’s a toxic system. By all means protect your precious, broken, dysfunctional plan like Gollum in the cave. I’m not afraid of change. Any attempt at improvement will be better than what we have today.
