Kansas Advocates for Better Care will present the first KABC Caring Award to 3rd District Congressman Dennis Moore. The presentation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the SpringHill Suites, 1 Riverfront Plaza. The event will feature music by Johnny I and the Receders with vocalist Janelle Frost.

The award recognizes a Kansan who is a leader on aging issues and supports the needs of elders and people with disabilities. KABC said it chose Moore because he supported legislation that would increase access to services for elderly and physically disabled Kansans and because he helped secure government funding to start the American Stroke Foundation.

The event is open to the public and requires reservations, which must be made by Friday by calling 842-3088.
