Lawrence resident faces firearms charge

Three men, including a Lawrence resident, were charged this week in federal court with firearms violations.

Quinton S. Wilson, 31, Lawrence, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm after a felony conviction. Also facing the charge is Eric D. Crump, 33.

A third man, Randy G. Johnson II, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a user of a controlled substance.

If convicted, each would face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

Wilson is charged with possessing several weapons, including a .38-caliber Rossi revolver seized when Lawrence police searched his vehicle June 17. Johnson had been sitting in the front seat, according to an earlier complaint filed by an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Crump also is charged with possessing the revolver and other weapons.
