• North-East Kansas Unit of the American Contract Bridge League held a two-session qualifying round of bridge on Sept. 26 at the Kaw Valley Bridge Club site. Top scorers qualified to participate in the district qualifying round in Oklahoma City next month. The sessions were directed by Jerry Sloan. Ten communities were represented in the competition.
The local qualifiers in A were Donna Johnson and James Masilamani, Larry Westherholt and Steven Vossler, and Paul Heitzman and David Piro.
B qualifiers included Sally Taylor and Klee Zaricky, Eldon Herd and Shari Krentzel, Chris Lane and Virginia Seaver, and Jean Otney and Janice Hollowell.
C qualifiers included Jeremy Martin and Craig Huneke, Jack Flickinger and Dick Shaffer, Patrick Musick and Jolene Andersen, and Bebe Huxtable and Wanna Roszel.
