Aggies knock off No. 19 Clemson

Anaheim, Calif. — B.J. Holmes scored 20 points to help Texas A&M upset Clemson in the first round of the 76 Classic.

David Loubeau added 12 points and nine rebounds and Bryan Davis had 10 points for the Aggies (4-0), who will face No. 8 West Virginia in a semifinal game today.

Trevor Booker scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half for Clemson (4-1).

Texas A&M led by as many as 17 early in the second half before Clemson pulled to 58-56 when Tanner Smith made two free throws with 5:14 remaining. Smith finished with 14 points.

A free throw and then Holmes’ three-pointer gave the Aggies some breathing room and Clemson could never recover.

Alabama 79, Baylor 76

Orlando, Fla. — JaMychal Green scored 22 points and Mikhail Torrance had 20 to help Alabama beat Baylor in the Old Spice Classic.

Senario Hillman added 15 points for Alabama (3-1).

LaceDarius Dunn had 19 points and Ekpe Udoh added 17 for Baylor (4-1), which was looking to open the season with five consecutive wins for the third straight season.

Green had 15 points, including a dunk with 3 seconds left, as Alabama took a 42-36 lead at halftime.

San Diego 76, No. 25 Oklahoma 64

Anchorage, Alaska — Brandon Johnson scored 22 points and San Diego upset Oklahoma in the first round of the Great Alaska Shootout.

Willie Warren scored 30 points for Oklahoma (2-2).
