It was a bad day for the Kansas football team as it was walloped 69-21 by Missouri before a grumbling local crowd. The loss concluded the KU season with a 1-9 record after Pepper Rodgers’ crew had gone 9-2 with an Orange Bowl appearance just the season before. Missouri coach Dan Devine spared no horses, keeping his key quarterback and many of his best players on the field well into the fourth quarter even though the issue long had been beyond doubt.
