Chiefs’ Bowe suspended
Kansas City, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has been suspended for four games for violating the NFL’s policy against performance-enhancing substances.
The team announced the suspension Tuesday and said it would have no further comment.
Bowe has been a bright spot in an otherwise dismal season for the Chiefs (2-7). He leads the team with 33 catches, including six catches for 91 yards last weekend in a victory at Oakland. He also had a season-high 109 yards in the Chiefs’ other victory, at Washington.
The 25-year-old Bowe is in his third year in the NFL, all with Kansas City. He was a first-round draft pick in 2007 out of LSU, where his 26 touchdown receptions are a school record.
Bills’ Jauron fired
Orchard Park, N.Y. — Coach Dick Jauron has been fired by the Buffalo Bills following the team’s 3-6 start. The Bills said in a statement that a replacement would be announced later.
Jauron’s firing Tuesday comes two days after Buffalo was beaten 41-17 by the Tennessee Titans.
Bills owner Ralph Wilson says it was “a difficult decision,” but one he felt he needed to make in the “best interest of our team.”
Jauron finishes with a 24-33 record over three-plus seasons.
A possible replacement could be defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL
Missouri adds recruit
Columbia, Mo. — Top basketball recruit Tony Mitchell of Dallas will join the Missouri Tigers next season. The university announced Mitchell’s commitment Tuesday. He is considered one of the top 20 high school seniors and the highest-rated recruit to sign with Missouri in 15 years.
The 6-foot-8 forward will play this year for L.G. Pinkston High School in Texas after a junior season at Center of Life Academy in Miami.
He joins point guard Phil Pressey of Dallas, power forward Kadeem Green of Charlotte, N.C., and shooting guard Ricky Kreklow of Columbia in Missouri’s 2010 recruiting class.
Purdue guard sldelined

GOLF
Watson can play in British
St. Andrews, Scotland — Tom Watson’s place in the next five British Opens is safe after the Royal & Ancient’s decision to change one of its exemption rules.
The 60-year-old five-time British Open champion finished runner-up this year but would have lost his exemption status because of the R&A’s age rules. But golf’s governing body outside the United States said it has amended one of its rules so that former champions who finish in the top 10 in the previous five Opens get a five-year exemption.
That also applies to Greg Norman, a two-time champion who tied for third at the 2008 British Open.

He's on the juice and he still drops half the passes thrown to him?
The bloom is off the rose for D-Bowe in my book. I think he's a dud.
Maybe we'll find a better receiver somehwere over the dewayne bowe. (couldn't resist)

Heard through the grapevine it was diuretics not steroids! Amazing that he can't seem to catch the easy ones but catches the near impossible ones. I hope he keeps out of trouble and lives up to his HS/college days.
