KU to have H1N1 flu vaccine clinic for students on Friday

Kansas University will offer about 900 free doses of the H1N1 flu vaccine to students between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Watkins Memorial Health Center.

The doses will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

To be eligible for the H1N1 vaccine, students must show their KU Cards and be:

• 24 years of age or younger.

• 25 years of age and older with certain medical conditions, such as asthma and diabetes, that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications.

KU recommends pregnant students see their obstetricians for the H1N1 flu vaccine.

Before coming to the H1N1 clinic, it is recommended that students download and complete a vaccine consent form.

Nearly 600 doses of H1N1 vaccine were given at a clinic Nov. 6 on campus.
