25 years ago: Seven nominated to Chamber of Commerce

Seven local residents were nominated to serve three-year terms on the Chamber of Commerce board of directors. They were Phil Anderson, Bob Johnson, Jim Lewis, Sandy Praeger, Shirley Martin-Smith, Skeet Smith and John Webb.

Local United Fund officials continued to rejoice that the UF drive had reached its goal by deadline time and so far was more than $1,000 past the quota of $470,882. UF had often struggled to meet its goal and the Bob Ohlen-Joel Jacobs-Jo Bryant leaders had high praise for the 1984 feat.
