Jason G. Dick has graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as “Operation Warrior Forge,” at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash.

The 32 days of training provide professional training and evaluation for all cadets in the aspects of military life, administration and logistical support. Although continued military training and leadership development is included in the curriculum, the primary focus of the course is to develop and evaluate each cadet’s officer potential as a leader by exercising the cadet’s intelligence, common sense, ingenuity and physical stamina.

Upon successful completion of the course, the ROTC program, and graduation from college, cadets are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army, National Guard or Reserve.

He is the son of Earnest and Sheryle Dick, Kansas City, Mo. His wife, Alphilde, is the daughter of Gretchen Buyer, Lawrence.

Army National Guard Pvt. Steven C. Johnson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla., as an honor graduate.

Johnson will become a cannon crew member after completion of advanced individual training.

He is a 2007 graduate of Lawrence High School and the son of Steve and Cheryl Johnson, Lawrence.

Army Reserve Pvt. Sean F. Owens II has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky.

He is the son of Sean F. Owens, McLouth.
