Lawrence city government has been lauded for its use of technology.
Digital Communities magazine and e.Republic’s Center for Digital Government recently ranked Lawrence as the eighth most digitally advanced city government in the country for communities with a population between 75,000 and 124,999.
The city uses digital technology to place its City Commission agendas and related documents online, makes a variety of GPS maps available on the city’s Web site, and has a system in place that allows people to report online everything from potholes to graffiti.
Santa Monica, Calif., was the top-ranked city in Lawrence’s size category for use of digital technology.
