Drivers on the South Lawrence Trafficway will face slowdowns or even stops at two sites designated for repairs Tuesday.

From 9 a.m. to noon, crews are scheduled to close one lane at the trafficway’s bridge across Clinton Parkway. From noon to 3 p.m., the closure will shift to a bridge that crosses a creek about 800 east of the trafficway’s intersection with Kasold Drive.

Flaggers will be posted to direct traffic through the work zones.

Crews will be mudjacking pavement on either side of the bridges. The process involves injecting foam beneath the surface, to lift settled pavement back up to the level of the bridge.

The trafficway originally had been scheduled for Monday.

Crews also are scheduled to do similar work Tuesday at the Kansas River bridges that connect downtown Lawrence and North Lawrence. Officials expect few traffic changes, because of adjustments already in place for ongoing reconstruction of the intersection of North Second and Locust streets in North Lawrence.
