The 59ers FCE will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Kathy Mulinazzi’s home, 4505 Woodland Drive. Mulinazzi will present the lesson, “Life Is Too Short Not To Enjoy The Fancier Things.” Co-hostess is Colleen Ellis.

Kanwaka FCE will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Aliene Bieber, 533 Lindley Drive, Lawrence.

Hostess will be Charlene Winter. Lyn Walther will give the lesson, “Signs of Fall.” Members are to bring their favorite fall item.

The Vinland FCE will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Mariann Bradley, 2015 N. 700 Road, Eudora. Nora Cleland will give the lesson, “Kansas Yesterday and Today.” Roll call will be answered by each member reciting the number of hours they have volunteered for FCE this year.

Douglas County FCE and Kansas State Research and Extension Family and Consumer Sciences announce the November program “A Cup of Christmas Tea.” Pattie Johnston, Lawrence Public Library, will present a book review.

Each unit is to bring a dozen of their favorite Christmas cookies and each person attending is to bring a favorite tea cup. Stories of the tea cups and cookies will be shared.

The program will be at 9:30 a.m., Nov. 13 in the Dreher Building at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 843-7058.

The Stull Busy Beavers met Oct. 12 at the Stull United Methodist Church. The club celebrated Achievement Night with a pizza party and recognized 4-Hers for their past year of 4-H work. The club had a hayrack ride and cookout on Oct. 10, hosted by the Leming family. New program information and committee assignments were passed out to families for the coming year. 4-Hers were encouraged to attend the county officer training and the county achievement ceremony. Two new members, Bailey Leming and Kassidy Schumann, joined the club. The club’s next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 12 with Parents Night as the program.
