There was a growing local interest in soccer for women and Kansas University had a “soccer club” that had produced several competitive teams in the area. KU had no scholarships at the time but eventually got a formal soccer program.
Kansas University’s Vietnam Memorial was to be built in Marvin Grove, a wooded area northwest of the Spencer Museum of Art, a steering committee announced.
