KU soccer falls to top-seeded Missouri, 3-2, in OT

The Kansas University soccer team lost, 3-2 in overtime, to top-seeded Missouri on Wednesday in the first round of the Big 12 tournament after MU’s Kristin Andrighetto blasted the game-winner in the 96th minute.

The loss eliminated the No. 8-seeded Jayhawks from the conference tournament and dropped them to 12-8-2 overall, while MU improved to 13-5-3. The Tigers will face Oklahoma State in the semifinals Friday.

The loss will likely end KU’s season. The NCAA Tournament field will be announced on Monday.

Emily Cressy scored her 12th goal of the season for KU. The 12 goals are the second-most in a season, along with Caroline Smith, who had 12 her freshman year in 2002.

Kim Boyer also scored her first goal of the season for KU. Monica Dolinsky earned her 30th career assist, moving her into 17th all-time in the Big 12.
