25 years ago: Change of venue request for murder trial denied

November 4, 2009

India Gandhi, slain prime minister of India, was buried in New Delhi as anti-Sikh rioting cotinued and the death toll surpassed 1,000. Sikh bodyguards were suspected of figuring in the killing. Her son, Rajiv, immediately was elevated to the top job and was getting heavy criticism for the rioting and fatal violence.
