Aunt Jane, the notorious local jointist and liquor bootlegger, will have to serve jail time for her latest arrest although the amount of time behind bars has not been set. . . . Every natural gas consumer in Lawrence today got a notice that no bills under 50 cents will be allowed by the company. Unless a person uses 50 cents in gas during the month they will be charged that amount just the same. . . . East siders are planning a protest meeting against proposed routes of street car company lines. They say they deserve a line as much as any other part of town. They have none, now. Meanwhile, the city and the electric line are again having conflicts over the contract and how it should be phrased.
