Four area football teams will look to continue their seasons tonight, when they open play in the Class 3A and 4A state playoffs.
Two of those squads, Eudora (7-2) and De Soto (4-5), will face off in a first-round 4A matchup at 7 at Laws Field in Eudora.
The Cardinals enter the playoffs on a three-game winning streak and as district champions. De Soto enters the postseason as a district runner-up.
The Cardinals and Wildcats faced each other in Week 2 of the regular season, with Eudora winning, 27-6.
In other Class 4A action tonight, Baldwin High (2-7) will play Bishop Miege (7-2) at 7 in Roeland Park.
The Bulldogs, who struggled early on, advanced to the postseason by winning two of their final three games of the season. They finished as the runners-up in Eudora’s district. Miege, meanwhile was the champion of the district which included De Soto.
The only other area game on the docket tonight involves Class 3A Oskaloosa (7-2), which will travel to Rossville (7-2) for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Tonight’s winners advance to Saturday, where they’ll play for a spot in the quarterfinals.
