The state of Kansas was seeking a refund of at least $50 million for some 475,000 Kansas natural gas customers whose utility prices soared after a pipeline allegedly agreed to double what it paid one of its own companies for gas. The suppliers were Northwest Central, the Gas Service Co. of Kansas City, Mo., Kansas Power and Light and Union Gas System of Independence.
