Ribbon cutting planned after bank’s relocation

CornerBank will be host to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new location, 1201 Wakarusa, Suite B2, in the Free State Business Center, at 4:30 p.m. today, with Lawrence Chamber of Commerce officials presiding over the ceremony.

“With the current economic conditions, the bank decided it was prudent to reduce our overhead costs to ensure we can continue to serve our customers,” said Doug Dawson, CornerBank’s community bank president.

In conjunction with the relocation, Dawson was promoted to community bank president for the Lawrence market. Jana Dobbs, former community bank president, has been named chief marketing officer and will be responsible for marketing and business development at all nine CornerBank locations.

The bank has retained its depository powers. Shelby Lathrom, assistant vice president and branch operations manager, will oversee deposit operations as well as providing mortgage lending and consumer loans.

The bank’s new phone number is 865-1533. Dawson can be reached at dougd@cornerbanks.com.
