Five new Scouts joined Boy Scout Troop 65 during Webelos Graduation Weekend May 8-10 at the Old City Lake in Spring Creek Park.

Inducted during an Arrow of Light ceremony were Alex Cigard, Garrett Hundley, Ben Morgenstern, Jordan Peery and Austin Ward. The Scouts became members of the new Wolverine Patrol.

During the weekend, the Scouts of the Wolverine Patrol earned their Totin’ Chips and Fire’em Chits, and worked on advancement. The new Scouts and members of Cub Scout Pack 3065 also participated in activities that included first aid, cooking, knot tying, fire building, map and compass, forestry and storytelling.

The troop held a celebratory campfire for the Wolverine Patrol who crossed the lake to establish themselves after they were inducted.

Troop 53 attended Order of the Arrow induction May 15-16 at Camp Naish. Those earning Ordeal membership were Scouts Connor Harman, Connor Ballenger, Ross Chumbley, Sean Morris, Brian Morris, Alex McKinsey and leader Glenn Sohl. Scouts earning Brotherhood membership were Elliot Klopp, Trenton Shambaugh, Jordan Cutell and Devon Griffen. Also attending were Boy Scout Connor Chestnut (Brotherhood), with Brotherhood leaders Jay Morris, Brian Van Schmus, Eric Meutz, Chris Berger, Carey Berger, Bryan Chumbley, Mike Shambaugh, John Harman, and Vigil leaders Bruce Elliot and Kip Grosshans.
