Bruce Schwyhart, CornerBank president and CEO, has announced the promotion of Doug Dawson to community bank president for CornerBank’s Lawrence location.

Dawson has nearly 20 years of banking experience and started his banking career as a teller while still in college. Dawson has worked in various capacities, including credit analysis and lending. He joined CornerBank in 2005 as vice president, commercial lending, and was promoted to senior vice president in 2007.

Dawson recently completed a term as treasurer of the Douglas County United Way and continues to serve on its board of directors. He earned Bachelor of Science degrees in business administration and psychology from Kansas University.

Dawson is a member of the Lawrence Home Builders Association, Sertoma Club, Lawrence Chamber of Commerce and Lawrence Country Club, and is a 2006 graduate of Leadership Lawrence.
