Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for May 18, 1909: “A.W. McFarland today sold his interest in the Lawrence Egg Case Filler factory and will leave June 1 for Portland, Ind., where he will take charge of a large factory there. … While the audience was laughing its hardest at the performance of Superba at the big carnival last evening, one section of seats fell and several people were hurt, a few of them seriously. Soft ground caused the collapse. Fortunately, there was no panic.”
