Lawrence’s Sunflower Elementary School has canceled all field trips scheduled for Friday, according to Principal Jason Jones.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Douglas County and much of northeast Kansas until 3 p.m. Friday

The watch also covers Shawnee, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Wyandotte, Johnson and Franklin counties, among others.
