Aquahawk signs with Missouri State

Free State High senior Cameron Case signed a national letter of intent to swim at Missouri State University Tuesday afternoon in the FSHS library.

Case, who last swam for the Firebirds during his sophomore year of high school, has been a member of the Lawrence Aquahawks since he was 8.

Although he waited longer than many seniors typically do to decide on a college, Case said he was thrilled to have landed at a place like Missouri State.

“I’m just ecstatic,” he said. “It’s such a relief to actually know where I’m going to school. It’s been very stressful. It’s the end of year, graduation is coming up and I’m just so happy to have found a place like Missouri State.”

Case chose the Missouri Valley Conference school over the University of the Pacific, largely because of Missouri State’s proximity to his home town.

Case plans to major in business and likely will swim the 200- and 400-yard individual medley, as well as the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke.
