The National Weather Service has canceled the watch for an area that included Lawrence.
Douglas, Brown, Jackson, Jefferson and Nemaha counties are no longer under a tornado watch.
2:43 p.m.
The area of the tornado watch has been expanded, to include the following counties: Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, Douglas, Jackson, Jefferson,
Johnson, Leavenworth, Nemaha and Wyandotte.
1:51 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 8 p.m. for five counties in Kansas, including Douglas.
Other area counties included in the watch are Leavenworth, Wyandotte and Jefferson.
