Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for May 6, 1909: “More than 400 are here today for the state meetings of the Grand Lodge of the Degree of Honor in FAA Hall. Many notable people are taking part. … The slump in wheat appears to have been but temporary and hard wheat was bringing an even $1.25 a bushel today while soft wheat topped the market at $1.35. This could lead to new rises in prices for flour, a great source of recent complaint.”
