Ryan Luke, who coached the Eudora High girls basketball team the past four seasons, is leaving to take the head girls basketball coaching position at Beatrice High School in Beatrice, Neb.

Luke, a Nebraska native, said the opportunity to be closer to home was the deciding factor. Luke, who will be getting married this summer, said he had family in the Beatrice area.

“This opportunity came up, and we took a look at it and it was a very tough decision,” Luke said. “But we decided it was best for that reason, for family reasons.”

Luke was 62-30 as the coach at Eudora, and led the team to the sub-state championship and state tournament this year.
