The Scottish Rite Board of Trustees announces land and an existing building have been acquired to accommodate all the local Masonic bodies. The new building, at 1301 E. 25th St., was previously a scuba diver training facility and shop. Extensive interior remodeling will be required to make the space suitable for different needs. It has 6,000 square feet with space to provide lodge rooms, common space, offices, a kitchen and storage. The lot also includes adequate space to extend the current parking lot and provide some outdoor recreational facilities like a patio and/or grill.

The Scottish Rite is establishing a building fund to help assist with the costs of the facility. For more information, contact Jim Eggenberger, executive secretary of the Lawrence Scottish Rite Bodies, at 843-2333, or by e-mail at jime@sunflower.com.
