Over the Rainbow Doll Club met March 12 at the home of Val Fittell. Fittell and Roxanne Hall gave a historical and informative lesson on Betsy McCall. They displayed several examples of Betsy McCall, her dresses, and paper dolls. Members will present and discuss their dolls at Presbyterian Manor on April 2. The next meeting will be April 9 at the home of Suzanne McGinn, 2615 Orchard Lane.

University Bridge Club announces results of its March 14 meeting. Hosts were Al and Carol Smith.

Blue winners were Harold Riehm, first; Hazel Stellmacher, second; John Stark, third; Florence McNicoll, fourth; and Lois Liebert, fifth.

Pink winners were Edna Galle, first; Jane Golden, second; Donna Gatts, third; Willi Stark, fourth; and Alice Akin, fifth.

The Kaw Valley Corral of the Westerners met March 10 at the Smith Center of Brandon Woods. Marilyn Bradt was the emcee.

The meeting opened with the question, “What governor-to-be successfully proposed historic changes to the legislative, executive and judicial elements of the Kansas Constitution in the early 1970s?” Stitt Robinson was the first to answer. The answer was Robert Bennett.

Charlie Stansifier introduced the guest speaker, Burdett Loomis, who spoke on “Political Changes under the Gun: The 19th Century Kansas Legislature Enters the 20th Century, 1965 – 1974.”

The Wednesday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game of March 11 was directed by Chris Lane.
