Eudora — The celebration started a little early. With 30 seconds to go in the game, the Eudora High student section couldn’t wait any longer and chanted, “Sub-state champs!”

The Eudora girls cruised to a 42-25 victory against St. James in the 4A girls sub-state basketball championship game Saturday. The Cardinals will play next week in the 4A state tournament in Salina.

Eudora senior Haley Epperson scored a game-high 14 points on seven field goals and pulled down nine rebounds.
