Party planned to welcome new Douglas County 4-H agent

If you haven’t met Douglas County’s new 4-H agent, here’s your opportunity.

The Douglas County 4-H Council is having a welcoming party for Mark Flory from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Dreher Building at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper St. Refreshments will be served.

Flory, a 2003 Lawrence High School graduate, is returning to the 4-H program he belonged to as a youth for 13 years as a member of the Lone Star 4-H Club.

As Douglas County’s 4-H agent, Flory will be responsible for the 4-H program, which has 10 clubs, 370 members and about 150 volunteers.

Flory became the agent on Feb. 9 after working as the agriculture and natural resource agent in Miami County for nearly two years.
