Helicopter aiding in search for car suspected in rural burglary

Jefferson County Sheriff’s officers are searching for a vehicle involved in a suspected burglary west of Perry Lake.

A Kansas Highway Patrol helicopter was used in addition to Jefferson County sheriff’s officers to try to find an “older dirty blue car,” Sheriff Jeff Herrig said.

Herrig said residents came home Wednesday morning at their property north of Grantville and chased off the vehicle involved in the alleged burglary. Officers were still trying to find the vehicle at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.
