Veritas wins, 54-35

? Jeremiah Johnson scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds and the Veritas Christian boys basketball team defeated Flint Hills Christian, 54-35, in the seventh-place game of the KCAA 2A state tournament on Saturday.

Johnson also contributed four steals and three blocks for the Eagles, who finished the season 8-16.

“It’s not the game we were anticipating playing in, but the guys came ready to play,” Veritas coach Doug Bennett said. “These games are all about heart and I think our guys wanted to end the season on a good note.”
